Koshkonong Solar clears lunch debt for Cambridge School District

Invenergy presented a $7,000 donation to Cambridge School District to support student wellbeing across the district. The largest share of the gift, $5,000, will cover outstanding balances in the district’s school lunch assistance program, ensuring no student carries this burden into the new school year. The remaining funds will support greenhouse projects at the Severson Learning Center, where students grow produce in partnership with the Cambridge Food Pantry, and the athletics department for athlete nutrition and mental health resources, supporting student-athletes on and off the field. 

 “A strong community is built on mutual support. By easing the burden of school lunches, investing in students’ physical and mental health, and providing hands-on learning experiences, we hope to strengthen the organizations that form the foundation of the Cambridge community,” said Sam Heagney, Koshkonong Solar project developer. “We strive to be good long-term partners, and this donation is one small way we can give back to a district that has invested so much in its students.” 

Invenergy's investment in southern Dane County includes the under-construction Koshkonong Solar Energy Center and proposed Koshkonong Solar II. These projects combined will create enough domestic electricity to power 110,000 Wisconsin homes, support hundreds of jobs, and generate $2.2 million in new annual revenue split between Christiana, Deerfield, and Dane County — providing a boost to local public services and infrastructure. With 17 projects operating or under construction in Wisconsin, Invenergy prioritizes the communities it serves by listening to local organizations and turning those partnerships into meaningful support. Invenergy donated over $20,000 to Dane County education, civic, and charitable organizations in 2025 and continues to invest in the community’s areas of greatest need.
